part 1: small suppliers for beginners
We are based in Turkey. We have been long aware of the fact that textile industry is one of the top five pollutants in the world. From production to distribution there are huge problems. Our initial idea was: if there is so much textile in the world that remains unused, why not source them instead of exhausting the world's new resources to create new raw materials?
The idea made total sense to us. We visited different small providers that sell/produce/work with textile to collect their excess material. We deliberately chose the ones which we think have character. The results were incredible even to us. Super exciting, colorful with great textures. These are not merely traits that fast fashion fails to offer; they are also typically unaffordable. Smaller the supplier, easier to navigate. Perfect for beginners. What about when I want to scale up the business?
